One man dead, another in serious condition after stabbing in Qld

ONE man is dead and another has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after being stabbed in north Queensland overnight.

Police said the pair were found outside an ambulance station in Mount Garnet just before 10pm, suffering serious stab wounds to their back and chest.

Despite desperate attempts by paramedics, a 36-year-old man died at the scene.


A 33-year-old man was taken by helicopter to Cairns Base Hospital in a serious condition.

Two crime scenes have since been established. One at a home on Coolgarra Road and the other at the Ambulance Station on Garnet Street.

A man and a woman have also been taken into custody and are currently assisting police with their investigations.
