‘Online predator’ allegedly offered child money for sex

AN alleged child sex predator has been arrested and charged following a covert police operation in Sydney.

The 27-year-old man allegedly began speaking with who he believed was a 14-year-old boy online in August 2018.

The man however was actually speaking with undercover detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crime’s Squad.


It’s alleged the man engaged in sexually explicit conversations and offered money to perform sexual acts on the boy.

Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested the 27-year-old at a business in Spring Farm on Thursday.

Police subsequently raided a home in Pleasure Point where they seized an laptops, mobile phones, and hard drives.

The man has since been charged with using a carriage service to groom persons under 16 years of age.

He was released on strict conditional bail and ordered to appear at Picton Local Court on April 10.
