FIRST at December 13, 5.50 PM |  ST GEORGE forward and State of Origin star Jack De Belin is the latest NRL player to be charged with sexual assault following an alleged incident south of Sydney.

The 27-year-old voluntarily attended Wollongong Police Station for questioning on Thursday afternoon and has since been charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault in company.

The charges relate to an incident involving a 19-year-old woman at a house in Wollongong on Sunday.

According to 9NEWS, the young woman “told police she got into a Pedi Cab with De Belin and another lower grade player under the impression they were going to another nightspot”.

The woman claims, however, that the two players said they needed to go to an apartment to get changed.

While at the apartment, about 1.30am, the woman allegedly went upstairs to use the bathroom and told police she came back down to find the two men naked.

It’s understood that’s when the players are alleged to have aggravatingly sexually assaulted her.

De Belin has reportedly denied any kind of assault and professed his innocence to club officials.

He is expected to be released on strict conditional bail ahead of his court appearance, a date for which has not yet been set.

Investigations into the allegations and involvement of the second player are continuing.
