Ormeau gang member arrested for making death threats against another man

AN Ormeau man has been arrested for making death threats against another man at Logan.

Police allege the 43-year-old man is a patched member of the Renegades Criminal Gang.

It’s alleged the man threatened to kill a Daisy Hill resident because he believed they had assisted law enforcement.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of Taskforce Maxima said, “This is an example of gang members using their membership to threaten and attempt to intimidate those in the community willing to take a stance against gang activities.”

“This arrest serves as an example of the increasing confidence within the Queensland community.  Historically, members of the public have been reluctant to come forward but new legislation assists in removing the gang’s ability use their numbers to influence the complainant and witnesses versions.”
