Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to five years in prison

UPDATE: Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to five years in prison for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013.

OSCAR PISTORIUS has arrived at a South African Court where he’s expected to learn his fate for killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The Paralympian, dressed in a dark suit, made his way through the media on Tuesday to enter the High Court in Pretoria.

Judge Thokozile Masipa will hand down her decision this evening, bringing to an end the seven month trial that has gripped the world.

Pistorius has been acquitted of murder but found guilty of culpable homicide, for which the punishment can range from a fine to jail time.

Pistorius claims he shot 29-year-old Reeva Steemkamp after he mistakenly believing she was an intruder on Valentine’s Day last year.

The Defence are pushing for a maximum 10 year behind bars.
