Oscars 2019: All the winners as Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody dominate
Green Book has taken out the Oscar for Best Picture at the 91st Academy Awards beating the likes of Bohemian Rhapsody, Roma, Vice and A Star Is Born.
The biggest upset of the night came in the Best Actress category with Olivia Colman winning for The Favourite, beating front-runner Glenn Close.
A clearly shocked Colman paid tribute to Close as she accepted her award.
“Glenn Close – you have been my idol for so long, and this is not how I wanted it to be,” she said.
Rami Malek won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, describing the win as “monumental”.
“I’m so appreciative to all of you, to everyone who has had a hand in getting me here, to the Academy, to people who took a chance on me every step of the way,” Malek said.
“I may not have been the obvious choice but I guess it worked out.”
“Thank you Queen, thank you guys for allowing me to be the tiniest part of your phenomenal your extraordinary legacy – I am forever in your debt.”

The win makes it a clean sweep of the awards season, after taking home a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and a BAFTA.
His win was also Bohemian Rhapsody’s fourth for the night.
Regina King won her first Oscar for her supporting role as a mother fighting for justice in If Beale Street Could Talk, while Mahershala Ali, won his second Oscar in a row foe his role in Green Book.
Lady Gaga can now add Academy Award winner to her list of achievements, sharing in the Oscar for Best Original Song for Shallow from A Star Is Born.
“All I have to say is that this is hard work, I have worked hard for a long time, and it’s not about winning, but what it’s about is not giving up,” she said.
“If you have a dream, go for it.”

There was no joy for the two Australian nominees who both missed out in their respective categories.
Fiona Crombie was up for Best Production Design for her work on The Favourite but that went to Black Panther.
Tony McNamara was nominated for Best Original Screenplay, also for The Favourite, but was pipped by Green Book.
The 91st Academy Awards were without a host for the first time since 1989.
Queen kicked off the night with a stellar performance of We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You which had everyone in the crowd on their feet.
Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper gave a powerhouse performance of their hit song Shallow, despite Cooper’s obvious nerves.
