New South Wales has recorded a rise in both COVID-19 cases and deaths today.
In the past 24 hours, 9,690 new infections have been detected across the state, up from 7,437 cases yesterday.
There’s also been an increase in COVID-19 related deaths, with 18 people with the virus passing away overnight.

There are now 2068 people being treated for the virus in hospitals across the state, down from 2,099 on Monday.
Of those, 132 are in intensive care.
Meantime, Victoria has recorded 9,785 new cases of COVID-19 and a further 20 deaths, up from seven yesterday.
However, there has been a large drop in hospital numbers.
There are currently 575 patients being treated in hospital, down from 638 yesterday.
