A 6-year-old black Labrador has been found stabbed to death in a Victorian backyard.
Wilbur, who lived with his owner in Wheelers Hill, was stabbed more than 19 times on December 9.
His owner last saw his dog alive around 7.45am, and made the gruesome discovery when he returned home at 6.15pm.

Detective Senior Constable Warren Atkinson said investigators didn’t know why the horrifying attack had occurred.
“There appears to be nothing stolen or signs of forced entry,” he said.
“The owner has told us that Wilbur was a quiet dog who trained as an airport sniffer dog but became a much loved pet when he failed the test.
“Wilbur had never shown any aggression and was presumably safe in his backyard when this attack took place.”
