A man who claimed his pet pug was stolen from him at knifepoint in Sydney has been charged with making a false report.

Earlier this month, the 29-year-old man claimed he was confronted by three men armed with knives as he walked through Sydney Olympic Park with his pet pug named “Egg”.

The men demanded the man’s wallet and backpack before taking off with the 14-week-old puppy.

Last night, a 29-year-old man attended Auburn Police Station and spoke to police and officers issued him with a future court attendance notice for false representation resulting in police investigation.

He will appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 6 April.

However, the whereabouts of “Egg”, the dog is still unknown.

Anyone with information of the dog’s whereabouts is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
