P-Plater busted drink-driving almost 5x the limit
A P-plate driver has been charged after she was caught allegedly speeding and drink-driving in Sydney’s west yesterday.
Police said the woman, who was driving a blue Ford Festiva, was detected travelling on the Great Western Highway at a speed of 122km/h in an 80km/h zone.
They pulled the car over and subjected the driver, a 48-year-old woman with a P1 provisional licence, to a random breath test.
After returning a positive reading, officers arrested the woman and took her to Blacktown Police Station where she underwent a breath analysis, returning an alleged reading of 0.249
She was charged with high-range drink-driving and exceed speed by more than 30km/h.
She had her licence suspended on the spot and is due to face Blacktown Local Court on Friday 2 December.
