P-plater says he was “dreaming” when caught speeding on Gold Coast’s M1
A p-plater hasn’t had the best start to his Friday morning after he was busted driving almost 30km over the speed limit on the Pacific Motorway.
The 26-year-old Molendinar man was pulled over at Oxenford just before 4.30am, after officers from the Coomera Road Policing Unit clocked his Holden Colorado travelling at 139km/h in a 110km/h zone.
When police asked the man what speed he was travelling at, he told officers he was “dreaming”.
The speeding driver was issued with two traffic infringement notices – exceed speed limit by more than 20km/h but not more than 30km/k and P1 type holder fail to display legible red plates at front and rear of car.
He was docked six demerit points and fined $621.
