Jeff Horn defeats Manny Pacquiao in Battle of Brisbane

UPDATE: He’s done it. Australian Jeff Horn has won the Battle of Brisbane and defeated Manny Pacquiao.

In what has been described as one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, the Brisbane teacher has become the new World Boxing Organisation welterweight champion.

The unanimous decision (117-111, 115-113, 115-113) was handed down at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with the crowd erupting into cheer.

It was much the same for those watching on at local bars and at home, with social media flooded with photos and videos congratulating the Aussie champion.

Brisbane underdog Jeff Horn made his way onto Suncorp stadium with AC/DC hit ‘TNT’ blasting through the speakers, followed by a relaxed Manny Pacquiao who also went with a popular AC/DC track ‘Thunderstruck’.

The pair are battling for the World Boxing Organisation welterweight belt in front of a packed crowd at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

Pacquiao has gone into the bout the favourite, but local teacher Horn is putting up a strong fight.
