Pair carjacked, dragged from car and beaten with metal poles

TWO men have been dragged from their car and bashed with metal poles in a frightening carjacking in Sydney’s southwest.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of an assault on Beresford Avenue at Greenacre just after 3am on Friday.

They arrived to find two injured men who claimed to have been carjacked by a group of men.

It’s understood the victims were beaten with metal poles after being dragged from their car on Rosedale Avenue.

The two men, aged 32 and 36, were taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.

Police said their injuries were not life-threatening.

The stolen vehicle was found burnt out a short time later, dumped a short distance away, police said.

Police have established three crime scenes, two on Beresford Avenue and another on Rosedale Avenue.

No arrests have yet been made.
