Pair arrested after leading Gold Coast police on chase in stolen car

A man and woman have been arrested after leading police on a chase across the Gold Coast in an alleged stolen car.

The vehicle, stolen from a home in the Brisbane suburb of Fig Tree Pocket on November 20, was spotted by officers in Main Beach just before midday.

Pol-Air began tracking the car as it travelled through the streets of the coast, including the Pacific Motorway.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told myGC the car continued onto Nerang Beaudesert Road, where police deployed road spikes just before 3.00pm.

The vehicle then travelled into Nerang, where it finally came to a stop on Station Street.

A 30-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were taken into custody at the scene.

No charges have yet been laid, with investigations ongoing.
