TWO men have been charged with a string of offences including kidnapping for ransom and torture after a man was held captive and assaulted in a Mount Gravatt unit yesterday.
Police said the 40-year-old man was allegedly held against his will at a unit complex on Broadwater Road.
“During this time, it will be further alleged that the man was assaulted physically through-out the day and was made to contact a relative to arrange the transfer of money into a bank account,” Qld police said in a statement.

The relative contacted police and detectives were able to carry out investigations to determine where the man was being held.
Officers stormed the unit on Wednesday afternoon and took two men into custody.
A 36-year-old Mount Gravatt man and a 21-year-old Manly man were both charged with one count each of kidnapping for ransom and torture, two counts each of assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful possession of weapons, six counts each of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possession of a drug utensil.
Both were refused bail and are due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
