Two hospitalised after teen hit by car outside Gold Coast school

TWO people are in hospital after a teenager was hit by a car outside a school on the southern Gold Coast.

The accident happened outside All Saints Anglican College at Merrimac on Thursday afternoon.

Three ambulance crews, including a critical care unit, responded to the scene on Highfield Drive around 3.30pm.


A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC a male in his teens was treated for “soft tissue injuries”.

A second person, whose age and gender is not known, was treated for a possible back injury.

It’s understood the second patient was the driver of the vehicle.

Paramedics spent 30 minutes treating and stabilising the patients at the scene before they were taken to hospital.

One patient was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital, while the other was taken to Pindara Private.

They were transported in stable conditions.
