TWO people have been rescued from a Gold Coast river after they were forced to jump into the water when the boat they were on burst into flames.
The 4.5 metre bowrider caught fire on the Coomera Rivera at Coomera around 2.40pm this afternoon.
Police said two people were on board the boat at the time it went up in flames. They were forced to jump overboard and were plucked out of the water by boaties on a passing vessel.

The Gold Coast Water Police and Volunteer Marine Rescue raced to the scene and attempted to save the burning boat, but they were too late.
The boat was completely destroyed in the inferno but fortunately, those on board escaped serious injury.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious. Police said the blaze was thought to have been caused by a mechanical malfunction.
