Southport Court today heard, the female victim has a domestic violence order against the man in New South Wales, but not in Queensland.
That means the incident is not considered a breach of the order.
He has been refused bail to reappear on November 19.
The woman has been treated for injuries to her face and head in Gold Coast University Hospital.
