Clive Palmer has today announced that he is cancelling the registration of the Palmer United Party with the Australian Electoral Commission.
Mr Palmer said he made the decision based on the current political conditions.
“The current political conditions were different from 2013 when the party was formed to oppose the carbon and mining taxes,” Palmer said in a statement.

The former Sunshine Coast MP also confirmed his personal retirement from politics.
“I would like to thank the members and thousands of Australians in every state of the Commonwealth who have supported the party and its candidates during the last four years.’’
