Paradise Point man on cloud nine after Gold Lotto win

A Paradise Point man in his 60s has already begun hunting for his dream home after winning division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto.

The thrilled man was one of eight division one winners nationally who each took home a prize of almost $500,000.

He is the eleventh division one winner on the Gold Coast so far this year and takes home $496,656.01.

“Fantastic!  Woohoo!” he exclaimed when his win was confirmed by a Golden Casket official this morning.

“It’s great. I’m wrapped out of my brain!”

The winner explained he only discovered his win around lunchtime yesterday when he sat down at his computer to catch up on some work, and saw an email from Golden Casket.

“The email said ‘Congratulations’ but it didn’t say how much it was.

“I thought it might have been a hoax email. I couldn’t really believe it. I still can’t believe it to be honest!”

With the win under his belt, the man has begun hunting for a dream home.

“I definitely want to buy a little place to kick my heels back in. Then I don’t have to worry about renting when I retire.

“It’s definitely come at a good time. It’s a huge relief. It makes a hell of a difference. I’m wrapped!”

The man purchased his winning 18-game QuickPick entry from Supanews Xpress at Westfield Helensvale.
