Paraglider rescued after crash-landing in tree on Gold Coast

LATEST @ 2.50 PM | A paraglider has finally been rescued after becoming stuck in a tree canopy in the Gold Coast hinterland.

It took rescue crews around three hours to bring the female paraglider to safety after she crash-landed in the tree at Rosins Lookout at Beechmont around 11.30am on Tuesday.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the woman was able to walk herself out of the bush.


She was assessed at the scene by paramedics but thankfully did not suffer any serious injuries.

The woman declined transport to hospital.

EARLIER @ 12.30 PM | A rescue operation is currently underway to free a paraglider stuck in a tree canopy in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Emergency crews were called to Rosins Lookout at Beechmont just after 11.30am on Tuesday following reports of the incident.

It’s understood a female paraglider became stuck after accidentally landing in the tree.

Crews are currently working to untangle the woman, whose age is not known, from the tree and bring her back down to safety.

It’s not yet known if she has suffered any injuries.
