Paramedic hit by car while directing traffic in Sydney

A paramedic has been hit by a car at the scene of an accident in Sydney’s south west.

Police were called to Reilly Street, Liverpool, after a motorbike struck a parked car just after 4:00pm on Sunday.

While other paramedics treated the motorcyclist, an additional paramedic was helping direct traffic when he was allegedly collected by a Holden Commodore that was attempting to get past.

The paramedic suffered minor injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The 52-year-old male driver was arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station. He was later released.

The motorcyclist involved in the original crash was taken to Liverpool Hospital with serious injuries. He is understood to be in a stable condition.
