Paramedic stabbed on Fraser Island

A Paramedic is recovering after he was stabbed by a woman on Fraser Island on Friday.

The woman reportedly went to the Ambulance Station at Happy Valley at around 3:30pm, telling staff on duty she needed medical assistance.

It is then believed that she pulled out a box knife and asked for drugs, but when her request was refused she reportedly lashed out.

The RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopter from Bundaberg flew to the scene with a Police Officer on board.

The injured Paramedic was treated for injuries to his arm and abdomen while the area was cordoned off, he was then airlifted to the RBH in a stable condition.

Police are looking for the woman who is accused of stabbing the medic.
