ELEVEN people are being assessed by a team of paramedics on a busy Gold Coast street after reportedly being exposed to chemical fumes.
A fleet of ambulances was dispatched to a location on Varsity Parade in Varsity Lakes about 11.40am following reports a number of people had been exposed to an unknown substance or chemical.
Four crews were on the scene at the time of writing, while another two were still on the way.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said a total of 11 patients were being assessed by paramedics at the scene, however only one patient was “experiencing symptoms”.
It’s understood one person fainted before paramedics arrived but they are now conscious and alert.
The patients’ genders and ages were not immediately known.
It is not clear where exactly on Varsity Parade the incident is occurring.
The busy street services the Varsity College Senior School and is lined with dozens of homes, apartment buildings, shops and a number of parks.
