Smoke machine sparks fears of house fire on the Gold Coast

4:30PM | Reports of a house fire at Helensvale have been dismissed after crews arrived to find the occupants playing with a smoke machine.

Firefighters were called to the house in Forbes Places around 3.30pm after a neighbour spotted smoke coming from the property.

Fearing the worst, fire crews raced to the scene but, after a quick inspection, it was discovered the smoke was in fact being produced by a machine.

3:45PM | Emergency services are responding to reports of a house fire at Helensvale on the Gold Coast.

Fire crews were called to the house in Forbes Place just after 3.30pm.

Paramedics were also responding.
