Paramedics called to surfing incident, crash and wounding across SEQ

Paramedics have been kept busy overnight, with a number of incidents reported across the southeast.

Crews were first called to Duranbah Beach just before 6.00pm, following reports of a surfing incident.

A male teenager had suffered a back injury while surfing there, and had to be taken to Tweed Hospital in a stable condition.


A short time later, paramedics were called to Burleigh Heads, following reports a car had crashed into a pole along the Gold Coast Highway.

Two people were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries around 7.30pm, and are both believed to be in stable conditions.

Later on, emergency services rushed to a private address in Logan, following reports of a wounding just before 11.00pm.

A man is in a serious condition with a significant hand injury. He was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
