Paramedics kept busy with multiple crashes

FOUR people spent most of their Saturday night in hospital following three separate crashes on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to the first on The Esplanade in Surfers Paradise just before 8.30pm.

Queensland Ambulance said they were called to reports of a vehicle having collided with a motorbike, or moped.

A man sustained facial injuries, cuts and abrasions, and was taken to Gold Coast Uni Hospital for treatment.

He was transported in a stable condition.

About an hour later, paramedics were called to reports of a crash involving a truck and a car at Coolangatta.

The vehicles came to grief on the corner of Tweed and Rutledge Street about 9.26pm.

A man was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital in a stable condition with neck pain.

Then, about 3.30 this morning, two more people were injured in a two-car smash on the M1 at Coomera.

They sustained minor injuries in the collision and were taken to the University Hospital in stable conditions.
