Paramedics rush to Gold Coast Airport after light plane goes off runway

A person’s been hospitalised after a light plane went off the runway at Gold Coast airport this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the airport just before 4.30 pm, following reports of a plane incident.

It’s understood a light aircraft had gone off the runway, with the person inside suffering head and shoulder injuries.

Paramedics treated just one person before taking them to the John Flynn Hospital in a stable condition as a precaution.

No one else was assessed at the scene.

It’s still not clear exactly what went wrong with the plane.

Queensland Ambulance Service could not confirm the age or gender of the patient.
