Paramedics rush to near-drowning at Gold Coast beach
UPDATE @ 11.40 AM |Â A man has been taken to hospital following a near drowning at a beach on the Gold Coast.
Paramedics were called to Broadbeach just after 10.30am following reports a person had come into trouble in waters off Margaret Avenue and Old Burleigh Road.
A man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was treated at the scene before being taken to Robina Hospital in a stable condition.
It comes after authorities issued a desperate plea for Queenslanders to be extra vigilant in and around the water following a spate of near-drownings and fatalities across the state in recent days.

EARLIER @ 11.00 AM | ONE person is being assessed by paramedics following a reported near drowning at a beach on the Gold Coast today.
Emergency crews were called to Broadbeach around 10.30am following reports a swimmer had come into trouble in waters off Margaret Avenue and Old Burleigh Road.
A QAS spokesperson could not confirm the patient’s gender or age at this stage.
Their condition is also unknown.
