Paramedics rush to near-drowning at Main Beach

LATEST @ 8.15 AM | A woman has been taken to hospital after being pulled from the water at Main Beach this morning.

The woman came into trouble while swimming off Macarthur Parade and Stafford Avenue just after 6.30am.

She suffered a head injury and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed the woman has since been taken to Pindara Private Hospital in a stable condition.

EARLIER @ 7.00 AM | A woman is being treated by paramedics after nearly drowning at a beach on the Gold Coast this morning.

Emergency crews were called to a location off Macarthur Parade and Stafford Avenue in Main Beach just after 6.30am following reports of a “post-immersion” incident.

The woman, whose age is not known, suffered a head injury.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC she is “conscious and alert”.

She’s still being treated on the beach, but is expected to be transported to hospital in a stable condition shortly.
