Parents to now pay for babies to sit on their laps during Jetstar flights
Jetstar has revealed that parents will now have to pay for babies to sit on their laps during flights.
The budget airline announced the changes in a statement released on their website on Monday.
“From 15 May a fee of $30 per journey will apply for infants under two years old travelling on domestic Jetstar flights in Australia,” the statement reads.
The fee includes an allowance of up to four oversized infant items, including a pram, stroller, portable cot and highchair.
AÂ $50 infant fee on Trans-Tasman flights has also been introduced, while the existing fee for international flights will increase by $10 (from $40 to $50 per journey).
Jetstar says the new infant fees bring them inline with other low cost carriers in Australia.
