Parents warned of nationwide ‘baby rattle’ recall

Parents and carers of infants are being warned of a nationwide recall involving a ‘Soft Hammer Rattle’.

A recall notice posted on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website says “The wooden rings on the rattle can crack and could possibly result in small parts that could be hazardous to small children”.

“Small parts if detached from the product pose a potential choking hazard to children under the age of 36 months,” the notice reads.

People have been told to immediately stop using the rattle and to return it to their local BRIO AB retailer for either a full refund of replacement product.

The recalled rattles (Article number 30423) were sold in stores nationally and online between 1 January 2015 – 24 July 2017.
