PARENTS WARNED: Suspicious man asking young school girls if they need a lift

Police are investigating the suspicious behaviour of a man who has been reported to have stopped and asked young school girls if they need a lift in his car.

Both incidents occurred in the vicinity of Peachey Road, Philben Drive and Vennor Drive in Ormeau, and were only five days apart.

The first incident occurred at about 7.30am on Friday June 3, as one school girl was waiting for a bus.

The second incident occurred about 3.30pm on Wednesday June 8, and involved a school girl who had just got off a school bus.

On both occasions, the male is described as being older looking, perhaps in his 50’s, scraggy appearance, grey hair.

On both occasions, the male was driving an old red vehicle.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV in an attempt to identify the vehicle.

Police are advising members of the community to be aware and obtain the vehicle registrations of any driver taking part in suspicious activity.
