UPDATE: THE man who had been holding a hostage in a Perth park has surrendered to police.
His hostage had been allowed to walk to police minutes earlier.
The hostage taker, took off his shirt, and walked to police who have taken him away in handcuffs, live shots on the Seven Network showed.

The siege ended around 7am (9.00 AEST), after more than 23 hours.
EARLIER: POLICE have cordoned off a park in Bunbury, Western Australia after a man believed to be in possession of explosives took at least one person hostage.
Police, ambulance and firefighters were called to the scene near the corner of Koombana Drive and Blair Street on the city foreshore.
A large sign has been erected, believed to contain the man’s demands.
It’s believed the man may have explosives, or some kind of gas canister and authorities have confirmed it is a hostage situation.
A Tactical Response Group, armoured vehicles and heavily-armed officers have extended the exclusion zone around the scene.
Authorities are aware of the identity of the man at the centre of the situation, but were not releasing further details.
They asked members of the public to stay away from the area.
