Parkwood intersection to be closed each night for six days for light rail work

MOTORISTS are being urged to avoid the major intersection outside the Gold Coast University Hospital for the next six nights as crews work to install overhead wires for stage two of the light rail.

The intersection where Olsen Avenue meets Wintergreen and Parklands Drive will be closed from 8.00pm to 5.00am each night, starting tonight and lasting until Friday, 4 August.

Vehicle access to the Gold Coast University Hospital, however, will be maintained from Hollows Way and Parklands Drive via the Smith Street Motorway.

Vehicle access to businesses along Olsen Avenue will also be maintained, including Dan Murphy’s, The Parkwood Tavern, Pet Destination and the United service station.
