Passenger from West Africa isolated in Sydney

A PERSON has been isolated at a Sydney hospital after stepping off a flight from West Africa with a “low grade temperature”.

The patient was placed in isolation at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital after returning from Sierra Leone which is currently afflicted by a deadly epidemic of the Ebola virus.

It’s understood the passenger presented a low grade temperature during a routine screening shortly after touching down.

The patient was taken to hospital for clinical assessment where they will be tested for Ebola.
