Passengers killed, driver critically hurt in horror single vehicle crash

Two men have died and another has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition following a horror single vehicle crash in Victoria.

The accident happened at Stockdale, near Briagolong, some 270 kilometres east of Melbourne, on Saturday morning.

A passing motorist raised the alarm after coming across the scene of the crash on Stockdale-Fernbank Road at around 8.45am.

Police said a Holden dual-cab utility had been travelling west when it left the road and struck a tree.

The driver, a 63-year-old Bushy Park man, was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital with serious injuries.

The two passengers, a 45-year-old man and a 60-year-old man, both from Briagolong, both died at the scene.

Investigators are trying to determine the exact time the incident occurred.
