Passengers have been left stranded on a train for an hour after overhead power lines came crashing down on a train in Brisbane.

The incident happened around 9pm Saturday night as the train was approaching Central Station.

One person had to be treated by paramedics after suffering an anxiety attack.

Buses are replacing trains between Roma St and Moorooka with delays of up to 60 minutes.

Trains on the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines will run express between Roma Street and Moorooka in both directions via the Tennyson line with delays of up to 20 minutes.

Services on the Cleveland line will run express in both directions between Roma Street and Buranda.
