Passer-by finds woman’s ‘burnt’ body on Melbourne beach

Investigations are underway after a woman’s badly burnt body was found washed up on a beach in Melbourne this morning.

Police say a passer-by made the gruesome discovery at the Esplanade in Altona, shortly before 9.00am.

The woman is yet to be identified, however homicide squad detectives are treating her death as suspicious.
