Patched bikie arrested after allegedly threatening public with knife in Surfers Paradise

Police have arrested a patched member of the Lone Wolf Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG), for serious offences including attempted armed robbery.

Detectives from Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch were called to an accommodation venue in Surfers Paradise around 2.30pm yesterday afternoon.

Initial reports said a man armed with a knife was making threats towards members of the public.

During the alleged incident, the man threatened an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old woman with a knife, and attempted to take the phones.

Police located the 41-year-old man a short time later, in a nearby apartment building on Ferny Avenue.

The Terranora man is due to front Southport Court today, charged with two counts of attempted armed robbery and one count of possessing a knife in a public place.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said police won’t tolerate violent or antisocial behaviour in public spaces.

“Any form of violence, particularly involving OMCGs, is totally unacceptable and we will continue to bring all resources to bear in tackling their unlawful behaviour,” Detective Inspector Smith said.
