Patient accused of lashing out at paramedics trying to help her in Cairns

A woman is accused of assaulting two paramedics who were treating her in far north Queensland.

The woman was in the back of an ambulance at a home in Cairns around midnight when she assaulted a 29-year-old female paramedic and struck a 48-year-old male paramedic.

Both have minor bruising.

When they arrived at Cairns Base Hospital, the woman allegedly fled before being located and arrested by police.

She is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on November 16.
