Patient rushed to hospital after near drowning at Gold Coast beach

A person has been rescued from the water at a Gold Coast beach, following a near drowning.

The incident happened around 7.20am on Saturday, just north of the Tugun Surf Life Saving Club.

Ambulance crews, including the Critical Care and High Acuity Response Unit, rushed to the scene, off Paradise Parade.

They found the patient, who is yet to be identified, in a critical condition.

They have been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Hi Rachel..would love to know if he recovers as I helped carry him from the water and he was in a bad way

He was a dear friend of many Brian and he is now an Angel in the sky. His brave Dad watched over him in icu, the machines were being switched off last night.
