Peak hour traffic chaos after spate of M1 crashes

Motorists are being warned of lengthy delays on the Pacific Motorway this morning following two separate crashes.

A motorbike and car collided southbound at Upper Coomera around 7.30am.

The rider of the bike, a man, suffered lower leg injuries and is currently being treated at the scene by critical care paramedics.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson has confirmed he is in a stable condition.

Meantime, a woman has been taken to hospital with a minor head injury following a two-car crash at Pimpama.

It happened on the M1 on-ramp near Rifle Range Road around 7.45am, only adding to the dramas on the busy motorway.

Delays currently stretch from Upper Coomera back past Ormeau, with drivers being urged to allow for extra travel time.
