Pedestrian dies after being run over on busy Brisbane road
UPDATE: A MAN has been run over and killed by a taxi on a busy road in Brisbane’s south.
The pedestrian was struck on Logan Road, near Nursery Road, at Mount Gravatt just after 9:30am.
Initial information indicated the man was hit just moments after getting off a bus.
It’s understood the man went to cross the road in front of the bus and never saw the taxi coming.
He was just 80 metres away from a designated pedestrian crossing when he was struck.
The man, believed to be aged in his mid 50s, suffered life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics raced to the scene to treat the man, however, he could not be saved.

He was pronounced deceased before he could be transported to hospital.
Police are at the scene and have closed Logan Road southbound from Nursery Road.
They say the road is expected to remain closed for “some time” while investigations are carried out.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
