UPDATE @ 7.45 AM | A young teenager has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Burleigh Heads this morning.
It happened along Christine Avenue, at the intersection of Hillstar Avenue just after 7.00am.
Paramedics report that the male in his early teens was taken in a stable condition to the Gold Coast University Hospital just after 7.30am.

He luckily only suffered minor abrasions.
However, emergency services are still on scene treating a second patient for chest injuries.
EARLIER @7.15AM | Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a serious crash in Burleigh Heads this morning.
It’s understood a pedestrian was hit by a car along Christine Avenue, at the intersection of Hillstar Avenue just after 7.00am.
Paramedics, including the High Acuity Response Unit, were deployed to the scene, and are currently assessing one patient on scene.
Details about the patient’s age and gender are yet to be confirmed.
Traffic along Christine Avenue has been delayed in both directions.
