A ROLLER coaster has broken down midway through a ride at a popular Gold Coast theme park.
The new Storm Coaster at Seaworld in Southport reportedly broke down shortly after 4pm on Friday afternoon with people stuck in two carts.
It’s believed one of the carts, otherwise referred to as ‘boats’, became stuck halfway up a ramp while the other stalled on a flat section just prior to a big drop.

Initial reports stated people were stuck on the ride for over an hour, however one staff member involved the retrieval operation told myGC guests were only stuck for around 30 minutes.
No one was injured.
It’s understood the same ride has broken down midway through a circuit numerous times over the past few months.
