People warned of nationwide Aldi pressure cooker recall

A popular pressure cooker has been recalled from supermarket giant Aldi over fears it may burn users.

A recall notice posted on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website says the The Crofton Chef’s Collection 6L Pressure Cooker has been pulled from sale because “in some cases the lid locking mechanism may be defective causing the lid to detach when cooking”.

“If this happens there is a risk of scalding the user” the notice reads.

The recalled cookers were sold at Aldi stores throughout New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia between 28 June 2017 – 21 July 2017.

Customers have been told to stop using the product and to return it back to their nearest ALDI store for a full refund.
