Perth man arrested after staff threatened with axe in jewellery heist
A man who threatened staff with an axe during a brazen daylight heist at a jewellery store in Perth has been arrested.
The 21-year-old man is alleged to have entered the store on Albany Highway in Victoria Park on Monday 20 June and smashed a jewellery cabinet with an axe.
The man allegedly removed an item and threatened staff with the axe as he left the store.
On Friday, the 21-year-old was arrested on an unrelated mater before officers realised he was responsible for the armed robbery.
The jewellery was recovered and the 21-year-old man was charged with the armed robbery.
He was refused bail to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on 8 July.
