Pet buyers warned of dodgy Facebook page selling puppies

PET buyers have been told to be wary of a dodgy Facebook page ripping off consumers.

The Facebook page “Bulldog Puppies for sale in Australia” is a scam, with two buyers defrauded thousands of dollars.

A west Australian woman lost $2500, but stopped sending money when she was asked to pay an extra $2000 for transport fees and insurance.

The money was transferred into a NSW-based bank account, however was then wired to Russia.

The bank account owner, whose account was used to transfer more than $25,000, is believed to be a victim.

The scam page uses the email address bulldogpuppies_australia@yahoo.com.au and Consumer Protection is working to shut the page down.
