A toddler has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by a pet dog in Sydney’s south west.
It’s understood the 23-month-old was in the lounge room of the family home on Hermitage Crescent in Cartwright, when he was bitten by the dog just after 7.30pm last night.
Police say the baby boy suffered significant wounds to the left side of his face and was taken to Liverpool Hospital by his mother.

Officers and local council were notified and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following investigations, the dog was secured by police and removed by local council rangers.
